Amy Winehouse Rushed to Hospital

News reports indicate that the British singer, Amy Winehouse, was rushed to a hospital in London, the city where she currently resides, on April 15. The reason? Apparently, it was due to an extreme pain in her chest related to her 32D breast implants.

Amy Winehouse got her breast implants back in October 2009, and has already had a problem with them once before. Despite this, friends say that she loves her augmented chest and prefers to keep them.

Complications following breast augmentation surgery are rare, but they can happen. The extreme pain that Amy is experiencing may be the result of such things as the following:

  • Capsular contracture
  • Submuscular placement (research by the University of California at San Diego has shown that pain following surgery may occur more frequently in women who have had submuscular placement of implants rather than subgladular)
  • A significant increase in size, which forces the body to adapt to the larger breast implants .
  • Nerve recovery – because some nerves may have been bruised during surgery, numbness is common following surgery. When affected nerves recover, pain may be felt. Although this is a good thing, the pain may feel like electrical shocks which can be quite painful.

These are the most common reasons why a woman would experience pain following breast augmentation surgery. Maybe  one of these reasons can explain the pain that Amy Winehouse is going through right now.
