Breast Implants
Choices, choices, choices – there are so many breast implant options available to you when you’re planning your Toronto breast augmentation procedure. While the size of the implant is most likely your main concern, you should also be aware that there are other features to be decided upon. There are four aspects of an implant you can discuss with Dr. Jugenburg when deciding on the best one.
1. Filling: Saline or Silicone?
Health Canada approved silicone filled implants in 2006, and ever since then, they have become incredibly popular because of their natural-feel and pliability. However, don’t disregard the benefits of saline, because they are also created without compromising these necessary qualities. Saline implants are still preferred by many patients and surgeons, particularly because some models allow for adjustments in size after placement.
It can be a difficult choice to make, but don’t worry. Dr.Jugenburg will detail the benefits of each and then assist you in making the best choice.
2. Shape: Round or Teardrop/Contoured?
The shape of an implant can be round or resembling a teardrop (also referred to as “contoured”). The contoured implant shape creates a more sloped shape to the breast. To achieve your preferred outcome, one shape may be better for you.
3. Shell Surface: Textured or Smooth?
The surface of all breast implants are available textured or smooth. Smooth implants are just that, while textured refers to how the surface of the shell is slightly rough.
4. Profile: Moderate to High
The profile refers to how much the implant will help the breast project forward from the wall of your chest after placement.
But even though there are so many breast implant options, remember this important and indisputable fact:
The best results can only be achieved if your Plastic Surgeon is highly skilled and understands the outcome you’re hoping for. It’s not the shape, texture or filling of a breast implant that makes you look better. It’s entirely the expertise of your surgeon and their surgical skill. For your desired results, choose Dr. Jugenburg, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who implements only perfected techniques to acquire an improved body contour that appears natural and beautiful.
